How to Invite God Into Your Business Plans

back to blog

Planning a business can feel heavy.
A lot of pressure.
A lot of decisions.
A lot of moving parts.

And if you are doing it all in your own strength, it feels even heavier.

But here is the truth I keep coming back to.
God is in the planning too.
He is not just in the big moments.
He is in the quiet ones.
The small steps.
The tiny decisions that build your business over time.

Here are three simple ways to hear Him as you plan.

1. Be still

Be still is not something we should do. It is literally a command. In Psalm 46:10, it says, “Be still and know that I am God.” And through the stillness and quiet, we can find strength (Isaiah 30:15). It is almost counter-intuitive. Like, I find strength in slowing down, resting? As a business owner, we need to get things done! But, that is not what the Lord commands.

Even JESUS GOT STILL. If Jesus, Lord of Lords and King of Kings, felt the need to stop and pray, then we probably should, too! In Mark 1:35, “Jesus got up and went out to an isolated place to pray.” So, as we are looking to 2026, take time to be still before setting your plans.

2. Find the peace

God often speaks through peace.
Not loud.
Not dramatic.
Just steady.

I don’t believe that life is all butterflies and rainbows, but I do believe that in the midst of any trials or chaos, we have a peace within us that can trump it all! God is a God of peace (1 Cor 14:33) and all we need to do is “tell God what you need, and thank him for all he has done,” then “you will experience God’s peace (Phil. 4:6-7).”

Don’t hold back. Tell him what you need. And, experience the peace!

3. Stay connected to the vine

This is one of my favorite chapters of the bible, John 15! It is about gardens, growth, and staying connected to the vine, so naturally it really resonates with my heart. In John 15:4-5, it says “those who remain in me, and I in them, will produce much fruit.” I pray you have been producing fruit in your life and business! If you feel like you have been having a hard time staying connected, here are three reminders:

  1. Worship – make a playlist of your favorite worship songs to listen to each day!
  2. Word – get in your word each day. The Bible app has some great devotionals and you can set reminders.
  3. Prayer – take time to sit, be still, and pray before the Lord.

Join The Brand Garden

When I started building my brand, I felt scattered and unsure. I was doing everything on my own and none of it felt aligned.

Everything shifted when I slowed down, got clear on my brand identity, and started building from a place of intention instead of pressure.

If you want guidance that helps you do the same, my newsletter is where I share that journey. You can subscribe and grow with me.
